NICET Certification Points & The Fire Sprinkler Training Center

Recognizing NICET recertification as a continuous need for Fire Protection professionals, General Air Products became a NICET Recognized Training Provider this past year in conjunction with the opening of our National Fire Sprinkler Training Center. With this Recognition, General Air Products and our industry partners are able to provide NICET CPD points through both our in-person training sessions and our online webinars. NICET Certification holders in the Fire Protection Industry must collect 90 NICET CPD (Certified Professional Development) points every three years to maintain their certification. We kicked off our 2021 webinar slate with a joint session featuring presentations from both the National Fire Sprinkler Association and General Air Products. NFSA’s Vince Powers provided participants with a review of the general requirements of NFPA 25 2017, including the general definitions used in the standard that are common to all NFPA documents. Powers also discussed the roles of the Inspector, the Building Owner, and the Authority Having Jurisdiction. WEBINAR RECAP: 13D & 13R Residential Sprinkler Systems with AFSA & General Air

General Air Products teamed up with the American Fire Sprinkler Association for one last webinar to close out 2020. Over the course of two hours, reps from both General Air and the AFSA covered a myriad of topics regarding residential sprinkler systems. John Denhardt from the AFSA discussed some of the probable upcoming changes to the NFPA 13D and 13R residential sprinkler standards, while General Air’s Matt McTamney covered when and why a residential Pump & Tank System is needed.
