There are a variety of technologies on the market for filling dry pipe and pre-action fire sprinkler systems - namely compressed air, dry air, nitrogen, and vapor corrosion inhibitors. Different projects require different types of air supply equipment, and each technology comes with its own benefits and drawbacks.
